How to Make an Image Transparent

Transparency lets a subject, logo, or drawing sit naturally over another background.

Step by step

  1. Upload the image and select its raster layer.
  2. Use the eraser for manual removal or a marquee/lasso selection for larger areas.
  3. Delete selected pixels to reveal transparency.
  4. Look for the checkerboard pattern to confirm an area is transparent.
  5. Export as PNG or WebP because JPG does not preserve transparency.

Practice with Bacon Services

Try the workflow with your own image. Bacon Services processes utility images locally and keeps editor objects on separate layers while you work.
